New Student-Athlete Checklist

Steps to becoming a Grenadier:
 


Prior to IU Southeast admission:

  1. Apply to IU Southeast: Application
  2. Submit all Official Transcripts to IU Southeast (High School and/or College)
    • If an email is needed, please send to admissions@ius.edu
    • Transcripts MUST come directly from the school or online portal (Parchment/Naviance)
  3. Complete any outstanding items on your application checklist

After admission (may require additional steps based on admissions decision):

  1. Create your IU computing account ad set up Duo two-step login. (Must have student ID#)
  2. Access your IU Email
  3. Confirm housing situation (On-campus, At-Home, Apartment, or Other)
  4. Financial Aid
    • Email Student Central at sesc@ius.edu with questions

NAIA Eligibility Requirements (complete as soon as recruiting process begins)

  1. Create NAIA Eligibility Center Profile
  2. Send your coach your ECID
  3. Fill out the profile information
  4. Pay registration fee
    • $90.00 for US and Canadian students enrolling full-time at an NAIA school in the first full term following high school graduation
    • $135.00 for US and Canadian college transfer students, current NAIA attendees, or students with more than a summer break after high school graduation
    • Registration fee waivers are available based on demonstrated need for U.S. students only. U.S. students who qualify(ed) for a waiver of SAT or ACT testing fees or for the federal free or reduced-priced school lunch program are eligible for a registration fee waiver. The student must be registered and the student's high school must submit the fee waiver confirmation through the NAIA High School Portal. The primary user of the High School Portal account will need to verify that the student meets one of the available criteria for a fee waiver to be approved.
    • IU Southeast cannot pay this fee for you per NAIA rules
  5. Send official transcripts from high school and EVERY college attended, including dual credit institutions.
  6. Check your to-do list regularly and complete the steps as soon as possible to receive an eligibility decision
  7. Once the checklist is complete you will receive a determination; NAIA Freshman Initial Eligibility standards are
    • High school cumulative GPA of 2.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale or two of the three following requirements:
      • Achieve a minimum of 18 on the ACT or 970 on the SAT
      • Achieve a minimum overall high school GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
      • Grade in the top half of your high school class.
