NEW ALBANY, Ind. – An ice-cold shooting night from behind-the-arc and too many turnovers sent the Grenadiers to a 72-69 loss to Cincinnati Christian.
The Grenadiers (4-11, 0-2 KIAC) committed 12 turnovers in the first half and shot 3-of-13 from three-point range. IU Southeast led by seven midway through the opening half, but were outscored 23-11 to close the half.
IU Southeast trailed by as many as nine points in the second before tying the game at 61 with 4:07 to play.
But the Eagles hit huge three-pointers down the stretch to keep IU Southeast as arm's length. The Grenadiers had a shot to tie at the buzzer but Jacob Mills' three was short.
Four Grenadiers scored in double-figures. Demetrius Stanton had 17 points, Myles Harvey had 13, Robert Sawyer added 12 and Jordan Coleman had 11.
IU Southeast finished the game shooting 24 percent (6-of-25) from three-point range.
The Grenadiers travel to Asbury on January 5.
