NEW ALBANY, Ind. - It was a tough weekend for the women's team suffering a 7-0 loss to NCAA Division I Wright Statet with the tightest matches coming from the No. 3 doubles team of Jeannie Soto/Dana Frank losing 6-3. In singles action Alexis Applegate was able to push her opponent to a 6-3, 6-3 decision at the No. 5 position while Dana Frank lost 6-4,6-1 at No.1 singles.
Against NAIA No..25-ranked Georgetown the Grenadiers were not able to pick up a win in singles or doubles play. The closest match came from No. 2 singles player freshman Lauren Winchell who fell 6-4, 6-4.
The women's tennis team travels to Ohio Christian on March 16 for their first Conference match of the year and hosts Lindenwood-Belleville on March 17.
