No. 23 IU Southeast Rolls Past Cincinnati Christian 98-67

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast men's basketball team got back on track with a dominant win over Cincinnati Christian on Saturday.

The IU Southeast offense rebounded from a sluggish effort on Thursday to shoot 52 percent from the field in the game and hit 13 three-pointers.

The difference in the contest was capitalizing on turnovers. The Grenadiers (12-7, 5-3 RSC) forced 22 turnovers which led to 31 points and CCU was only able to manage 10 points off of turnovers.

The Grenadiers led 27-23 with under six minutes to play in the first half but closed the frame on a 23-6 run to blow the game open. A Brandon Johnson three-pointer at the buzzer was the exclamation point.

Kerry Smith had 18 points, Lukas Burkman had 16 points, Jamie Johnson added 12 and Brian Alvey had 11 points in the win.

The Grenadiers host Carlow University Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
