DAYTON, Ohio - The Women's tennis team defeated Wittenberg 5-3 on Friday evening at the Five Seasons Sports Club in Dayton, Ohio.
IU Southeast started off the match with wins at #1 and #2 doubles but dropped the #3 position. The Grenadiers led 2-1 heading into singles play due to playing the DIII scoring rules in which all three doubles spots each count as a point.
Camille Greenwell, Jeannie Soto and Emma Ellis all won their matches comfortably in straight sets at #2, #3 and #6 singles to secure the win. Kendel Hieatt was leading 7-5, 0-3 when the match was clinched so play was stopped.
Next up the women are scheduled to play Georgetown on March 4.
