OWENSBORO, Ky. – The IU Southeast women's tennis team defeated Carlow University 4-2 before falling to Brescia University 7-0 to open conference play on Saturday.
Anna Littlefield and Katie Weimer got off to a quick start with a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles and Emme Ellis and Sarah VanIsenberg secured the doubles point with a 6-2 win.
In singles play, Littlefield, Weimer and Ellis all won by 6-0, 6-0 scores to secure the win.
Against Brescia, Littlefield and Weimer fell 6-1, while Ellis and VanIsenberg lost 6-3.
In singles, Emma Ellis battled back after dropping her first set 6-2 but fell 6-4. Anna Littlefield dropped a 6-3, 6-2 decision at No. 1 singles.
IU Southeast heads to Hanover College on Friday.
