MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – IU Southeast women's tennis won 6-1 over the Mount Vernon Nazarene Cougars Friday.
Libby Banet and Eva Ellis got the doubles matches started with a 6-1 win over MVNU's Annie Mahek and Deah Bresson. The Grenadiers secured the doubles team point after Jayleigh Shepman and Maci Vaughn won 6-4 over Alanna Reyes and Andi Green.
Banet followed up her win in the doubles with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Mahek, and Vaughn put the Grenadiers up 3-0 in the match with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Bresson. Eva Ellis secured the match for IU Southeast with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Green. Anellah Trujillo and Reece Smith won their singles matches and the Grenadiers took the match 6-1.
The Grenadiers are 2-2 following today's victory over MVNU. IU Southeast will be back in action Saturday for a tri-match against Ohio Wesleyan and Ferris State, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan.
