EVANSVILLE, Ind. - IU Southeast women's tennis was eliminated from the 2026 River States Conference Women's Tennis Tournament after a 5-1 loss to No. 2 Midway Friday afternoon.
Kate Halbig and Libby Banet were bested 4-6 by Midway's Emma Pheiffer and Alicia Sanglas Sanglas. The Eagles secured the doubles team point after Raigan Allbert and Tanit Cevada Cruz won 6-4 against IU Southeast's Eva Ellis and Maci Vaughn.
The singles matches opened with Banet falling 4-6, 2-6 to Sanglas Sanglas. Midway took a 3-0 lead in the match after Pheiffer won 6-1, 6-4 over Vaughn. The Eagles secured the match after Cevada Cruz won 6-4, 6-3 over Halbig. Anellah Trujillo got the Grenadiers' lone team point with a 6-1, 6-1 win over MU's Caitlin Wright.
The Grenadiers' 2025-26 season comes to an end following Friday's loss to the Eagles. IU Southeast finishes the season with a record of 14-6, tying their best win total since the 2013-14 season.
