Women's golf finishes sixth at RSC Championship

DANIELS, W.Va. - IU Southeast women's golf finished the 2025-26 season with a sixth-place finish at the River States Conference Championship Tuesday. The tournament was a three-round, par 72 tournament.  

Emma Rowland had IU Southeast's highest individual finish, coming in at +27 and tied for fifth place. Rowland's best round was round two, where she had the second-lowest score at +4 for the round. Rowland recorded a pair of birdies in round two as well.  

Rachael Shaffer had the Grenadiers' second highest finish at tied for fifteenth place. Shaffer improved her score by eight strokes from round two to round three. Shaffer recorded eleven pars and a birdie in round three.  

Lydia Hines finished tied for 33rd place in the individual standings. Hines recorded two birdies during the course of the tournament. Finishing two spots behind Hines was Caity Dailey. Dailey's performance at the tournament was highlighted by a hole-in-one on hole seven of round three. Brittany Fogle rounded out IU Southeast's individual scores, coming in 40th.  

As a team, the Grenadiers came in sixth place out of the eight teams present at the tournament. IU Southeast improved its team score during every round, improving their team score by two strokes from round one to round two, and shaving off another four strokes from round two to round three.  

The River States Conference also released their all-conference selections, awards, and Champions of Character Teams. The Grenadiers had two all-conference selections. Emma Rowland was named First Team All-Conference, and Rachael Shaffer was named Third Team All-Conference. In addition to being named First Team All-RSC, Rowland was also named RSC Newcomer of the Year.  

The RSC also released the 2026 RSC Women's Golf Champion of Character Team. Those selected to the Champion of Character Team are nominated by their coaches for best exhibiting the five core values the NAIA embraces, which are Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Servant Leadership, and Sportsmanship. Representing IU Southeast women's golf on the 2026 River States Conference Champions of Character Team is Rachael Shaffer.
