A New Albany, INd. native and former Providence High School stand-out, Julius began his college career at Spalding University in Louisville, where he helped the Eagles win an astounding 54 games and reach the NAIA World Series in 2005. After Spalding’s program re-classified to NCAA Division III, Julius took his talents to Arkansas in 2007, where he helped the Razorbacks to 43 victories by hitting .309 and slugging .588.

Following the 2007 college season, Jacob was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 33rd round of the Major League Baseball Draft. This past season at High-A Frederick Keys, Jacob had a breakout season. In his fourth professional season, the New Albany, IN native set new career highs in almost every offensive category including batting average, doubles, RBI, and home runs. He finished the season hitting .285 with 15 doubles, 12 home runs and 50 RBIs.

Jacob was honored by the Carolina League as the Matt Minker Community Service Award recipient, which goes to the Carolina League player who gives back to their local community. During the 2010 season, Jacob spent over 50 hours at various community events in the Frederick area signing autographs, working baseball camps and entertaining underprivileged youth. For all of his community work Jacob also received the Elrod Hendricks Community Service Award in 2010 from the Baltimore Orioles.

Julius joined the staff at Arkansas as a graduate assistant for the 2013 season. He returned home and jonied the staff at Providence High School in 2014 and helped the team to its first state title in 2016.
