NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The Indiana University Southeast volleyball team defeated St. Louis College of Pharmacy 3-0 on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 25) at home.
The Grenadiers defeated the visiting Eutectics of St. Louis College of Pharmacy: 25-15, 25-15, 25-21.
The IU Southeast volleyball team is now 19-9 (.679) overall and 6-0 in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC).
With today's win, the Grenadiers remain undefeated in conference play with two conference matches left to play this season.
Senior
Vanessa Stauble (Louisville, Ky.) led the Grenadiers with 16 of the team's 47 total kills (.485%). Sophomore
Lindsey Rumph (Brownstown, Ind.) added 10 kills (.400%) of her own to help lead the Grenadiers to victory.
Senior
Stacey Flatt (Louisville, Ky.) led the team with 33 of the team's 40 assists. Sophomore
Lauren McCartin (Floyds Knobs, Ind.) led the Grenadiers a match-high 21 defensive digs. Stauble led the Grenadiers with four total blocks. Senior
Kara Draper (La Grange, Ky.) served a match-high two service aces.
St. Louis College of Pharmacy (5-11 / 2-5 KIAC) struggled hitting throughout the afternoon with a team hitting percentage of .141 in three sets.
Kelsey Mileur (Murphysboro, Ill.) led the Eutectics with 11 of the team's 21 total kills (.250%). Mileur also led the Eutectics defensively with 13 digs.
IU Southeast will have two more home matches this week. The Grenadiers first take on Kentucky Wesleyan University at 7 p.m. on Tuesday (10/27) and then host Oakland City at 7 p.m. on Thursday (10/29) to wrap-up this year's home volleyball schedule.
Tuesday night will serve as Halloween Celebration Night with the IU Southeast Volleyball team. A bag of sweet treats will be given to any person, young or old, who comes to the volleyball match in their best Halloween costume.
There will be a parade of costumes between the second and third sets of the match. Judges will pick the very best costumes and the winners will be honored with FREE Papa John's pizza from our great sponsors located on Charlestown Road in New Albany.
