WINONA LAKE, Ind. - The Indiana University Southeast Volleyball team played two matches to begin its 2009 season on Friday in the first day of the Grace College Classic.

The Grenadier defeated Cedarville University 3-1 in the first game of the tournament. IU Southeast defeated Cedarville 25-20, 24-26, 25-19, and 26-24. With the win, first-year Grenadier Head Coach Lesley Drury Prather earned her first win as a collegiate coach.

In the Grenadiers' second performance of the tournament, IU Southeast fell to IU regional campus opponent IU East 3-1. IU East outlasted the Grenadiers 25-20, 25-21, 24-26, 28-26.

IU Southeast is now 1-1 overall after its first day of Volleyball competition in the 2009 season. The Grenadiers will face tournament host Grace College at 12 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday 8/22) in day two of the Grace College Classic. IU Southeast will then finish up the tournament with Huntington University at 3 p.m.
