NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The IU Southeast softball team kicked off the Grenadier Classic with two victories on Friday afternoon.

Allie Alford was the star in game one as she went 4-4 and hit for the cycle, IU Southeast defeated Concordia (Mi.) 7-6. The Grenadiers needed a clutch hit from Alford to tie the game in the seventh and then a ball was misplayed by the Lady Cards second basemen which let Alford score the winning run.

Jenna Swain got the win. Her record moves to 1-3.

In game two, the Grenadiers took on Bluefield State. The Grenadiers took the lead early and never looked back. Allie Alford scored the game's first run. Jordan Batliner doubled which scored to and the rout was on. Kayla Duke was dominant as she struck out 7. IU Southeast got the win 17-2 in five innings.

IU Southeast will play two more games with opponents to be determined. The first game will begin at 10 a.m and the other game will be at 2 p.m.
