Simpson and Cross Lead IU Southeast To Thrilling Win

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Jake Simpson had 29 points and 10 rebounds and Harry Cross had 25 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Grenadiers past St. Catharine 102-99 in the 2014-15 home opener for IU Southeast.

The game was close throughout with 11 ties and 26 lead changes.

Simpson and Cross were the difference makers down the stretch as Simpson had 20 of his 29 points in the second half and Cross had 18 of his 25 in the final frame.

Simpson hit key free throws in the second half to put the Grenadiers ahead. He went 11-12 from the line in the second half and was 16-20 for the game.

Cross was 7-12 from the field in the second half hit two big three pointers to keep the Grenadiers in the game.

Brandon Britt had a solid game, scoring 15 points and grabbing eight rebounds.

IU Southeast (1-1) committed 18 turnovers in the game which led to 17 points for the Patriots.

IU Southeast travels to Cumberland University on Wednesday for an 8 p.m. ET tipoff.
