BEREA, Ky. - Indiana University freshman Jessica Leanhart was named the KIAC softball pitcher of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, March 24. This is her third pitcher of the week award of the season.
Leanhart earned her fifth win of the season in the Grenadiers 4-3 win against Calumet College of St. Joseph. The freshman pitched all seven innings and only allowed one earned run while striking out nine Calumet batters. She is currently fourth in the KIAC with a 3.93 earned run average and leads the conference in batters struck out per game with 7.46.
Indiana University Southeast is 8-7 overall and 1-1 in conference play. They will return to action on Monday when they travel to Midway College for a doubleheader.
