NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Mason Lingafelter pitched seven solid innings and Frank Pluskota drove in four to lead IU Southeast past Miami-Hamilton on Thursday.
The Grenadiers' offense was dominant throughout the day, knocking around Harrier pitching for 11 runs on 15 hits.
Marcus Howard got the scoring started in the bottom of the third when his single scored Jarret Young who had doubled to start the inning. Frank Pluskota would single to score Elijah Burdette later in the inning for his first RBI of the day.
The Grenadiers (17-14) would add two more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Alex Potter singled and then scored on a triple by Tyler Adams. A sacrifice fly by Young would score Adams.
The game was broken open in the bottom of the seventh as IU Southeast would strike for five runs in the frame. Frank Pluskota hit a two-run double for his 200th career hit which scored Brian Crider and Kyle Asher. Alex Potter added a two-run single later in the inning to score Pluskota and Jake Roberts.
Pluskota went three-for-five with four RBI and Potter went three-for-four with two RBI.
Mason Lingafelter scattered seven hits and two runs in seven innings of work. He struck out three and did not walk a batter.
IU Southeast opens a four-game series at Brescia on Friday at 5 p.m. ET.
