NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast volleyball team started slowly in the first set, but rallied to sweep Ohio Christian for its fifth-straight win 26-24, 25-21, 25-17 on Thursday night.
Hannah Joly had a match-high 13 kills for the Grenadiers. Kelsey Willinger and Monica Loftus each had six. Hannah Barker had 28 assists.
The Grenadiers (12-7, 6-2 KIAC) got off to a sluggish and sloppy start and trailed 8-1 to begin the match. IU Southeast rallied to tie it at 21 and then took five of the next eight points to win the set.
The Grenadiers were able to jump out to comfortable leads in the second and third sets. They led by as many as seven in the second set and pulled away in the third, leading by as many as eight.
IU Southeast hosts Carlow on Friday at 7 p.m.
