NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast volleyball team was swept by Campbellsville 25-22, 25-18, 25-23 in the 2016 home opener for IU Southeast on Tuesday.

The first set was tight with both teams leading by no more than points. The set was tied at 17 before the Tigers scored eight of the final 13 points of the frame to take the first set.

The Grenadiers trailed 8-1 to open the second set but rallied to tie it at 10. The Tigers responded with a 10-3 run to put the frame out of reach.

In the third, IU Southeast had to dig out of a deep hole as they fell behind 10-3. IU Southeast rallied to tie set at 21, but dropped four out of the next six points

Monica Loftus led the Grenadiers with eight kills while Mary Dye and Hannah Joly each added seven kills.

Maria Coelho had a career-high 14 kills for Campbellsville and Annija Abolina added 12.

IU Southeast travels to the Indiana Wesleyan tournament this Friday and Saturday.
