NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast volleyball team swept Midway University 25-16, 25-18, 25-19 on Thursday night.

Monica Loftus led the Grenadiers with 13 kills, Parker Andres added 10 and Alexis Bassett had eight. Loftus and Andres each had two attack errors in the match and hit .440 and .348, respectively.

Loftus also led the way with 15 digs and Kenna Burman had 11.

The Grenadiers (15-14, 9-2 RSC) trailed 10-9 in the first set before finishing the frame on a 16-6 run. Alexis Bassett had half of her kills in the opening set.

In the second set, Bassett helped carry the IU Southeast attack with four more kills and Andres, Howell and Loftus each had three to secure a commanding lead for the Grenadiers.

The third set was tied at 11 and then IU Southeast closed the match with a 14-8 run. Loftus had seven kills in the final frame.

IU Southeast hosts Point Park and Carlow Saturday. The matches begin at 11 a.m.
