Box Score NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast volleyball team extended its winning streak four straight matches with a 25-14, 25-18, 25-20 win over Spalding University on Tuesday night. IU Southeast never trailed and led by as many as 13 points in the match.
Monica Loftus had 11 kills to lead IU Southeast. Alyssa Cosgrove added nine and Parker Andres had seven in the win.
Hannah Sipe and Cosgrove each had 15 assists. Loftus led IU Southeast with 15 digs, Kenna Burman had 12 and Maddie Jacobi added 11.
The Grenadiers (21-6) led the first set 10-6 before using a 12-3 run to run away with the opening frame.
In the second set, IU Southeast led 15-6 and withstood a late rally as Spalding cut the lead to 20-15 but they would not get closer. Halle Snyder, Loftus and Cosgrove had three straight kills to regain breathing room for the Grenadiers.
The third set was much closer as Spalding cut a 13-6 deficit to 19-16 but IU Southeast recorded six of the next 10 points to win the match. Lindsey Howell had back-to-back kills to help put the match away late.
The Grenadiers travel to Pittsburgh to face Carlow University and Point Park University on Friday and Saturday.
