Grenadiers Ground Harriers 9-2

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Back-to-back three-run innings propelled the Grenadiers past Miami University-Hamilton 9-2 on Tuesday.

The Grenadiers (28-7) opened the scoring in the third inning when Richard Rodriguez singled to right with the bases loaded to score Kyle Goodman and Jordan Branz. Korbin Williams followed with a sacrifice fly to bring in Josh Beams.

IU Southeast would add three more runs in the fourth to put the game out of reach. RBI singles from Drew Hensley and Branz made it 5-0 and Beams added a sac fly.

A pair of RBI singles by Austin Boggs and Spencer Henn got the Harriers on the board in the fifth but they would not get closer.

Cody Maloon and Kyle Goodman had RBI doubles in the sixth and eighth innings respectively and Beams tacked on a run when he scored on a wild pitch.

Jack Wohlert (5-0) earned his fifth win of the season in the contest worked three and a third innings of shutout baseball.

Richard Rodriguez went 3-for-5 with two RBI and Beams and Goodman each had two hits and scored twice.

The Grenadiers travel to Shawnee State on Thursday.
