Box Score 3 NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast volleyball team swept visiting Cincinnati Christian 25-12, 25-19, 25-15 on Friday night.
Monica Loftus led IU Southeast with 14 kills. Jennie Malone had six kills and Trinae' Love and Delaney Nichols each added five. Malone and Love each had two blocks in the match.
IU Southeast (13-4, 2-2 RSC) jumped out to a 10-7 lead in the first before using a 7-0 run to gain some distance between themselves and the Eagles. Monica Loftus recorded four kills during that run alone.
The second set was much tighter as IU Southeast led 16-15 before two kills from Loftus and one from Sarah Turner extended the IU Southeast lead. The Grenadiers would score six of the final nine points to take the second set.
In the third set, IU Southeast never trailed and the set was never tied. Cincinnati Christian (4-6, 0-4 RSC) cut the led to 20-14 but they would not get closer.
IU Southeast committed just 11 attack errors in the match and had just two in the opening set. They hit .340 for the match.
Oliva Frazier had seven kills for the Eagles in the loss.
The Grenadiers travel to Spalding University Saturday where they will face Westminster College at 1 p.m. and Spalding at 3 p.m.
