NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Alyssa Cosgrove had 18 kills and Alexis Bassett added 11 as IU Southeast swept West Virginia Tech 25-20, 25-17, 26-24 on Saturday.

The Grenadiers (18-5, 7-2 RSC) could not pull away from the Golden Bears for much of the first set, the largest lead was four points until IU Southeast used a 5-1 run late in the first set to win it. Alyssa Cosgrove and Jennie Malone had three of the final five points for IU Southeast.

In the second set, the Grenadiers led 9-6 before Brookelyn Clark sparked a 6-0 run to pull away. She had an ace and Cosgrove added two kills during the run. Back-to-back kills by Alexis Bassett won the set for the Grenadiers.

In the third set, IU Southeast led 14-9 before West Virginia Tech tied the set at 20. A kill by Jennie Malone gave the Grenadiers match point but the Golden Bears tied it at 24.

A kill by Alexis Bassett followed by an attack error by Carolina Bologna won the match for the Grenadiers.

Hannah Sipe had four kills and 40 assists for the Grenadiers while Kenna Burman led IU Southeast with 18 digs. Alyssa Cosgrove had 15 digs and Santina Schembra added 10 in the win. Jennie Malone added seven kills and a block.

IU Southeast travels to Ohio Christian Friday at 7 p.m.
