NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast softball team fell 8-0 and 6-2 to Taylor University on Wednesday.

In game one, Lauren Kanai opened the scoring with a two-run home to left-center for her first home run of the season. Taylor (5-3) added four-run fourth inning which gave the Trojans a 6-0 lead that they did not relinquish.

Kristin Michalic and Courtney Moriarty each had two hits in the win. Reecie Gilliam had the Grenadiers' lone hit of the contest.

In game two, IU Southeast took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third inning when Sydney Seger doubled to bring in Kyndyl Olds, who had reached on a single. Then Seger scored when Maggie Lubbehusen followed with a single.

Maddi Evans tied the game in the fifth when her RBI single scored Kanai.

Taylor scored four runs in the seventh inning to pull out the victory. Another Maddi Evans single scored two runs and then a Michalic two-run double made it a 6-2 game to complete the sweep.
