NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast baseball team returned home to defeat Lindenwood-Belleville 9-0 on Tuesday.
Clay Woeste led off the bottom of the first inning with a triple and scored on a single by Derek Wagner.
The Grenadiers (17-9) added three runs in the fifth to pull away. Cody Maloon singled to left with bases loaded to score Woeste and Daniel Brescia. Then Jordan Branz singled to left to bring in Mitchell.
Dalton Mitchell came through with a two-run single in the sixth to make it 6-0.
Santrel Farmer capped off the offensive surge with a double in the eighth that scored Mitchell and Chase Castor.
Five Grenadier pitchers combined for the shutout. Dalton Mitchell went 3-for-3 with two RBI and Farmer and Maloon each drove in a pair as well.
