IU Southeast Swept By Georgetown Tuesday

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast softball team dropped a doubleheader to Georgetown College 3-1 and 7-2 on Tuesday.

In game one, Georgetown scored first when Kristen Klimesh tripled to left-cetner to score Mallory Myers.

The Tigers (13-11) added a pair of runs in the fifth when Mallory Myers grounded out to score Hannah Howes from third. Then Klimesh singled to score Cassie Rannells.

Maddie Probus hit a solo home run to left to get IU Southeast on the board in the sixth.

Probus and Sydney Seger each had two hits in the loss.

In game two, the Tigers struck for two runs in the top of the third to break the ice when Kristen Klimesh hit a two-run single.

IU Southeast (16-14) cut into the 4-0 lead with one run each in the fifth and the sixth. Sydney Seger hit a sacrifice fly to score Kyndyl Olds and in the sixth Olds singled to score Kaitlyn Flowers.

A three-run seventh put the game away for Georgetown. The big blow came from Corrin Robinson who hit a two-run double. Kyndyl Olds went 3-for-4 with an RBI in the loss.

IU Southeast travels to the University of Rio Grande Friday at 2 p.m.
