NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast baseball team put up 12 runs in the first inning and did not look back as they defeated Cincinnati Christian 21-0 in seven innings on Friday.
IU Southeast (28-16, 16-6 RSC) sent 18 batters to the plate in the first inning and recorded eight hits and capitalized on four CCU errors.
Six Grenadiers had two RBIs on the day, led by Tyler Mills' three. He drew a base loaded walk and had a two-run single.
Dalton Mitchell had three hits and Daniel Brescia, Cody Maloon, Santrel Farmer each had two this.
Chas Adams (6-2) was dominant on the mound as he earned the complete-game win. He surrendered two hits and struck out seven while walking one. The Eagles (13-32, 8-14 RSC) had runners in scoring position twice in the contest.
The Grenadiers will conclude their series with CCU tomorrow at 5 p.m. for Senior Day at St. Matthews Baseball Complex located at 310 Ten Pin Lane in Louisville. Senior Day ceremonies will take place between games.
