CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio – The IU Southeast softball team swept Ohio Christian 6-4 and 3-2 on Saturday.
In game one, Kyndyl Olds led off the game with a double. Justice Kline drove her in with a triple and Kline would score on a sacrifice fly by Baylee Krueger.
Ohio Christian tied the game in the bottom of the inning when Whitney Fielder hit a two-run single.
A sacrifice fly by Justice Kline gave IU Southeast lead in the third and a RBI single by Emily Weiss gave the Grenadiers the lead back in the fourth at 4-3.
After the Trailblazers tied it in the fifth inning on Destiny Alderman's RBI double, the Grenadiers added runs in the sixth and the seventh.
In the sixth, Morgan Keefer doubled to right-cetner and scored on a RBI single by Katelyn Zillick. In the seventh, Baylee Krueger singled to bring in Olds.
Emily Weiss got the complete game win. She tied her career high with 10 strikeouts.
In game two, the game was scoreless until the sixth. Baylee Krueger recorded a two-run double and Morgan Keefer drove her in with a single.
Ohio Christian would cut the lead to in the bottom of the inning when Christine Moyer drove in two with a single.
The Trailblazers threatened in the bottom of the seventh when Cassie Woodgeard doubled and advanced to third on a groudout. But Becca Schoenung got the complete game win when she retired Alderman.
IU Southeast travels to St. Mary-of-the-Woods Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
