NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast volleyball team extended its winning streak four straight matches with a 25-13, 25-16,, 25-11 sweep of Asbury University on Saturday.
Alyssa Cosgrove had 14 kills to lead the Grenadiers. Alexis Bassett and Lindsey Howell each had eight kills, Parker Andres had six and Jennie Malone had five. Cosgrove hit .591 for the match, with just one attack error in 22 attempts.
The Grenadiers (13-3, 3-0 RSC) began the match with a 5-0 run and did not look back as they led by as many as 12 points in the first set. IU Southeast hit .317 in the opening set, recording 17 kills on 41 attempts.
In the second set, the Grenadiers led 16-11 when Lindsey Howell sparked a run that extended the IU Southeast led to 21-12 as she served for seven consecutive points. Alyssa Cosgrove had two kills in the stretch as well.
In the third set, IU Southeast jumped out to a 11-0 lead with Hannah Sipe serving. Alyssa Cosgrove and Lindsey Howell combined to record five of the 11 points in the run.
Hannah Sipe had 30 assists and five aces in the match. Kenna Burman had 20 digs and Lindsey Howel added 15.
IU Southeast travels to Brescia University Tuesday at 8 p.m.
