Box Score KOKOMO, Ind. – The IU Southeast volleyball team dropped a close contest to IU Kokomo 25-21, 25-23, 25-16 on Saturday.
Emilee Organ led the Grenadiers with nine kills, Alexis Bassett had eight, Jennie Malone had seven and Izzy Stallard had six.
The first two sets were very close throughout. The Grenadiers (3-2) had the first two sets tied or were in the lead late but the Cougars were able to string points together to take a two-set lead.
The first set was tied at 17 before the Cougars closed the opening frame on a 8-4 run and the second set saw the Grenadiers take a 22-20 lead but IU Kokomo answered with a 5-1 run to win the set.
In the third set, the Grenadiers cut the deficit to 11-9 but the Cougars used a 12-4 run to put the set, and the match, out of reach.
Hannah Sipe had 31 assists and led IU Southeast with two aces. Kenna Burman and Emilee Organ each had 11 digs.
IU Southeast travels to Oakland City Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET. Spectators can attend and must wear masks per conference policy. Oakland City has announced a cap on attendance of 250. For more information, click here.
