Grenadiers Sweep Point Park To Earn Fourth-Straight Win

PITTSBURGH – Emilee Organ had 12 kills and Jennie Malone added 10 to lead IU Southeast past Point Park on Saturday for the Grenadiers' fourth win in a row.

IU Southeast (8-6, 8-5 RSC) started slowly once again and fell behind 12-6 in the first set. A Point Park service error followed by a kill by Delaney Nichols tied the set at 15 and IU Southeast took the lead for good at 17-16 with a kill from Organ.

Brandy Eisenback capped off a 9-3 run to win the set with an ace.

In the second set, the Grenadiers led for much of the period but had trouble pulling away until late in the set. A kill and an ace by Organ followed by a Point Park attack error extended the IU Southeast lead to 23-17. Delaney Nichols forced set point at 24-19 with a kill and a kill by Abigail Vogel ended the set.

The Grenadiers took a 17-12 lead in the third set before the Pioneers cut the lead to 22-20. After a service error by the Pionners, Malone recorded a kill to force match point and Organ finished the match with a kill.

Hannah Sipe had 26 assists for the Grenadiers and Kenna Burman added 12 digs. Jennie Malone led IU Southeast with three solo blocks and three block assists.

IU Southeast concludes the regular season at Oakland City on Monday at 8 p.m. ET.
