NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Hannah Ogg had a perfect game through six innings and Erin Templeman hit a home run as the Grenadiers defeated Point Park 4-1 and 4-3 on Friday.
In game one, the Grenadiers struck for four runs in the bottom of the third. Erin Templeman led off with a home run to left-center, her fourth home run of year. The Grenadiers loaded the bases with a single by Reecie Gilliam and two bunt singles by Katie Templeman and Kaitlyn Flowers.
Ellie Jackman followed with a sacrifice fly to score Giliam. Then Madeline Probus singled to second to score Templeman and Flowers scored on a groundout by Kelsey Warman.
That was enough run support for Hannah Ogg, who was perfect through six innings. She worked into some trouble in the seventh, allowing one run on three hits by got Tyra Bell to pop out to end the game.
Ogg's final line was seven innings allowing one run on three hits while striking out 10.
Ellie Jackman was 2-for-2 with a RBI.
In game two, the Grenadiers put three runs on the board in the bottom of the second. Kelsey Warman started the rally with a one-out double. Miranda Miller followed with a RBI double. Erin Templeman drove in Miller with a RBI single and then Brooklyn Gibbs placed a perfect bunt in the infield for a RBI single to Gilliam.
Point Park (12-14, 6-6 RSC) tied the game in the fourth. Starter Jada Simon helped her cause with a RBI single. Then Carissa Scekeres hit a two-run single to center with the bases loaded to tie the game.
The Grenadiers (32-12, 12-2 RSC) took the lead for good with a run in the fifth. Madeline Probus hit a bloop to center that second baseman Jodi Frontino could not track down on a dive which allowed Probus to advance to second. Kelsey Warman came through again with a solid single to right to score Probus.
Hannah Ogg worked the final three innings to get her 22nd win of the season. She allowed three hits and struck out two.
Kesley Warman and Erin Templeman each had two hits and drove in a run.
IU Southeast travels to Asbury Tuesday at 4 p.m.
