Hendricks Named RSC First Team All-Conference, Lauderbaugh Earns Second Team Honors

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Jocobi Hendricks was named a River States Conference First Team All-Conference selection and Lane Lauderbaugh was named an RSC Second Team All-Conference selection as the league's basketball honors were announced on Monday. Three Grenadiers were named RSC Scholar-Athletes as well.
 
Hendricks, a senior guard from Louisville, ranks No. 1 in the league with 24.1 points per game and is tied for fourth with 3.9 assists per game. He ranks No. 5 in three-point field goal percentage at 43.1 and fourth in free throw percentage at 82.7. Hendricks is also No. 8 in steals per game at 1.6.
 
Lauderbaugh, a sophomore forward from Greensburg, Ind., was No. 11 in the league in scoring at 17.1 points per game. He also ranked No. 11 in rebounds per game at 6.7.
 
The All-River States Conference Men's Basketball Teams & Awards were announced at RiverStatesConference.com on Monday for the 2023-24 season.

Cobie Barnes from St. Mary-of-the-Woods (Ind.) College headlines the awards as the RSC Player of the Year and RSC Newcomer of the Year. The Pomeroys also had a big award for their head coach Jesse McClung as the RSC Coach of the Year. 

The All-RSC Teams were voted on by the league's head coaches. The All-RSC First, Second & Third teams included 10 players each. Also named are the RSC Men's Basketball Champions of Character Team and the All-RSC Scholar-Athlete Team. 

Barnes is a senior guard from Floyds Knobs, Ind. He is second in the conference averaging 23.1 points per game. Barnes is a transfer from SIU-Edwardsville in his first year at SMWC to garner RSC Newcomer of the Year honors. 

McClung is in his first year as Pomeroys head coach after being a top assistant at Marian (Ind.). He has led SMWC to a big turnaround with a 25-5 record, the RSC West Division championship, and an NAIA national tournament qualification in his first season.

The RSC Champions of Character Team honors one member of each team who best displays the NAIA character traits of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship.

The RSC Scholar-Athlete Team features those student-athletes who have at least a 3.25 GPA in the sport of men's basketball with at least one year at their current school.
