OAKLAND CITY, Ind. – The IU Southeast baseball team swept a doubleheader against Oakland City 10-2 and 3-1 to extend its winning streak to 13 games on Saturday.
In game one, the Grenadiers fell behind 2-0 after the first inning of play but cut the lead in half with a run in the second inning.
Ethan Burdette drew a leadoff walk and then stole second. He moved to third on an error and scored on a sacrifice fly by
Trevor Goodwin.
Mason White doubled to left-center and stole third with two outs but was stranded in the third inning.
IU Southeast tied the game in the fourth when Burdette singled, moved to second on an error and later scored on a sacrifice fly by
Logan Murphy.
Ethan Burdette put the Grenadiers in front with a two-run home run to left in the fifth inning, his first of the year.
A three-run sixth inning put the game away for the Grenadiers. After consecutive singles by
Colin Long and
Slater Schield,
Mason White drove them in when he reached on an error at second.
Max Flock drove in White when he reached on a fielder's choice with the bases loaded.
Mason White led off the eighth inning with a solo home run to center to extend the lead to 8-2.
In the ninth, a walk and a error put runners at first and second and Long doubled to drive in Flock. A RBI groundout by Schield scored

Starter
Tyler Yotkewich worked seven innings to earn the win. He allowed two runs on seven hits, walked one and struck out four. After the first inning, he allowed just two baserunners from the second through the fifth innings.
Connor Fries worked two scoreless innings in relief ad only allowed one runner on a hit by pitch.
Colin Long was 3-for-5 with a run scored and a RBI.
Ethan Burdette was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI and also drew a pair of walks.
Mason White had two hits, scored twice and drove in three.
In game two, IU Southeast did not have a baserunner until the third inning and the game was scoreless until the fourth inning when the Grenadiers scored twice.
Luke Powell and
Kody Putnam had back-to-back singles and moved up a base each on a flyout. A two-out, two-run RBI single to center by
Max Flock opened the scoring.
The Grenadiers added a run in the sixth when Burdette was caught in a rundown between first and second and Powel scored from third after reaching on a single.
Kacey Cheek earned his first win as he worked four scoreless and hitless innings in his first start. He walked a pair and struck out five.
Brendan Koester worked a scoreless fifth and
Garrett Hill earned a two-inning save, his fifth save of the year.
Luke Powell was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and
Max Flock drove in a pair in the win.
