"Solid team win tonight," IU Southeast interim head coach Derek Sims said. "Always good to get a conference W. I challenged them to get off to a good start. They responded! That is something we've been struggling with all year. We didn't shoot the ball very well in the first half and we gave up too many offensive rebounds. We were better in the second at both. Still too many unforced turnovers. It was good to see Grace knock down some shots and put up good numbers. She knows I want to see it on defense as well. I thought Jesse played well. Missed some shots but she did little things that do not show up on stats. Linzie had a solid game. She has been our most consistent player. We'll need all of that and more to be successful next week."
Grace Stapleton led IU Southeast with 17 points and three steals.
Lexi Starr had 16 points, and
Ella Brown added 13.
Makenna Wilson and
Jesse Ledgerwood had 11 points apiece.
Linzie Wernert had nine points and a team-high 11 rebounds.
Taylor Treat had five points and a team-high five assists.
IU Southeast shot 49.2 percent from the field and 40.7 percent (11-27) from three. The Grenadiers went 18-21 from the free throw line. IU Southeast assisted on 20 of their 30 made field goals.
