INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The IU Southeast women's basketball team fell to No. 5 Marian 87-54 on Saturday.
Marian opened the game on a 15-0 run and held IU Southeast scoreless for the first four minutes of the contest. Marian led 25-13 after one quarter.
Marian outscored the Grenadiers 24-9 in the second quarter and led 49-22 at the half.
The Knights continued their offensive production in the second half as Marian led 71-34 at the end of the third quarter.
IU Southeast outscored Marian in the fourth quarter, but the Knights still cruised to an 87-54 win.
Jesse Ledgerwood led IU Southeast with 27 points.
Grace Stapleton added 10 points, and
Morgan Roberts scored nine off the bench.
"Really solid defensive team tonight," IU Southeast head coach Abby Downard said. "We have a much-needed break until our next game. We will take a day and then back to work."
IU Southeast drops to 2-6 on the year. The Grenadiers return to action next Saturday at Miami-Hamilton.
