WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The IU Southeast men's basketball team fell to Campbellsville 81-75 at the Cumberlands Classic on Thursday.
Campbellsville led for the first eight minutes of the game before a three gave the Grenadiers a 15-13 lead. Campbellsville's offense then kicked into gear, outscoring the Grenadiers 14-5 over the next several minutes to take a 27-20 lead.
The Grenadiers then used a 9-0 run to take a 29-27 advantage. IU Southeast led 35-33 with 11 seconds left in the half, but a three by Campbellsville sent the Tigers into halftime with a 36-35 lead.
Campbellsville extended their lead to six at 49-43 to open the second half, but IU Southeast stormed back to tie the game at 51-51.
The Tigers rattled off six straight points to take a 57-51 edge, but IU Southeast kept fighting. A three with 6:10 remaining gave the Grenadiers a 67-66 lead.
A layup with 3:54 left put IU Southeast ahead 71-66. Over the next two minutes, Campbellsville used an 8-0 run to swing the lead in their favor at 74-71.
IU Southeast had the ball down two with 35 seconds left, but an offensive foul gave the ball back to the Tigers. Campbellsville connected on their free throws down the stretch to secure an 81-75 win.
IU Southeast had four players in double figures.
Trent Hinkle had 14 points, seven assists, and five rebounds.
Camden Pfeister and
Ethan Haddaway each had 14 points and five rebounds.
Nathaniel Hoffman added 10 points.

Wiley Brown said. "We made too many mistakes on defense. We were not locked in on shooters. We didn't manage the game down the stretch, and that's on me. Back to the lab!"
IU Southeast falls to 3-1 on the year. The Grenadiers return to action on Friday against No. 20 University of the Cumberlands.
