KOKOMO, Ind. – The IU Southeast men's basketball team fell to IU Kokomo 73-49 on Tuesday.
IU Southeast scored the first basket of the game, a
Lane Lauderbaugh layup nearly three minutes into the game. IU Kokomo scored the next nine points and led 9-2 after six minutes.
The Cougars extended their lead to double digits at 21-8 with seven minutes remaining in the half. IU Kokomo had a 15-point lead at 27-12, but back-to-back threes by
Caleb Brown cut the Grenadier deficit to nine at 27-18.
IU Kokomo closed the half on a 9-2 run to take a 36-20 lead into the halftime break.
The Grenadiers opened the second half with two layups, but IU Kokomo responded with 11 straight points to extend their advantage to 47-24.
IU Southeast didn't get within 19 points for the rest of the game as IU Kokomo cruised to a 73-49 win.

IU Kokomo shot 55.7 percent from the field, while IU Southeast shot 34.5 percent. IU Kokomo outrebounded IU Southeast 42-30.
Trent Hinkle led IU Southeast with nine points, five rebounds, and two assists.
Lane Lauderbaugh and
Richard Lang each had eight points and five rebounds.
Caleb Brown scored six points on a pair of threes.
IU Southeast (10-12, 5-6 RSC) travels to Alice Lloyd on Saturday for another conference contest.
