NEW ALBANY, Ind. –
Jesse Ledgerwood had 27 points and
Linzie Wernert added 21 points and 13 rebounds to lead IU Southeast but the Grenadiers fell 90-79 to No. 8 Rio Grande on Saturday.

The RedStorm (15-1, 4-0 RSC) took a 22-16 lead at the end of the first quarter but the Grenadiers opened the second quarter on a 8-2 run to tie the game at 24.
A jumper by Marina Garcia Perez put the RedStorm back in front 30-29 with two minutes to play in the half but the Grenadiers closed the period by scoring seven of the final nine points of the frame.
Linzie Wernert connected on a three-pointer and then scored in the paint on the next possession. After another stop defensively, Ledgerwood scored to extend the lead to six.
IU Southeast (7-9, 3-1 RSC) led 36-32 at halftime.

The RedStorm opened the third quarter on an 11-2 run to move back in front. Then Ledgerwood hit a three-pointer to put the Grenadiers back in front 47-46.
Taylor Treat tied the game at 50 when she knocked down a three with 3:31 to play in the third.
A layup by Ledgerwood tied the game at 56 but a Garcia Perez layup gave the RedStorm the 58-56 lead heading to the fourth.
Six turnovers in the final period were the Grenadiers' undoing as Rio Grande outscored the Grenadiers 10-2 in points off of turnovers in the final period.
Rio Grande opened the fourth quarter on a 13-4 run to put the game out of reach. A layup by Wernert cut the lead to 80-72 with 2:30 to play but Rio Grande answered with a layup by Garcia Perez.
Jericho Hopper had 10 points and four rebounds off the bench as she had half of the Grenadiers' bench points on the day.
IU Southeast travels to Brescia Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET
