OXFORD, Ohio – Officials of the River States Conference announced Monday that IU Southeast forward Eli Meyer is this week's River States Conference Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
Meyer was a force on the glass during the Grenadiers' wins over Simmons last week. The Seymour, Ind., native had a double-double (11 points, 14 rebounds) in IU Southeast's 99-77 season-opening win. Meyer followed it up with six points, nine rebounds, and four blocks Saturday.
It is Meyer's first career Player of the Week honor. Meyer and the Grenadiers will be back in action Tuesday night in Indianapolis, Ind., for a 6:30 p.m. game at Marian.
