NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Four Grenadiers scored in double-figures and IU Southeast shot 50 percent from three-point range to defeat Kentucky Christian 96-63 on Saturday.
 
Jaden Johnson had 25 points and seven rebounds in the win. Nathaniel Hoffman had 21 points, Trent Hinkle had 17 points and Camden Pfeister had 14 points and nine rebounds.
 
With the game tied at 17, Trent Hinkle hit a three-pointer, got a steal and another three to extend the lead to six. Nathaniel Hoffman followed with consecutive three-pointers to make the lead double-digits.
 
After the Knights cut the lead to six, Jaden Johnson connected from three-point range and then scored on a layup on the next possession to restore an 11-point lead.
 
Ethan Haddaway completed a three-point play with 5:21 left in the first half to extend the lead to 42-29. A three-pointer by Hoffman increased the lead to 45-31 and the Grenadiers led 49-36 at halftime.
 
Nathaniel Hoffman had 14 points in the opening half, Jaden Johnson had 12 and Trent Hinkle added 11.
 
IU Southeast dominated the second half, particularly on the defensive end. They held the Knights to just 10 points in the first 11 minutes of the half as IU Southeast increased its lead to as many as 33 points.
 
The Grenadiers held Kentucky Christian to 28 percent shooting in the second half as IU Southeast shot 53 percent.
 
IU Southeast outscored the Knights 32-18 in the paint for the game and outrebounded KCU 44-34.
 
IU Southeast travels to IU Columbus Tuesday at 6 p.m.
