OWENSBORO, Ky. - IU Southeast was defeated 7-0 by Brescia Wednesday afternoon.  

Trey Gutgsell and Brennan Cooper opened the doubles matches with a 6-4 win over Brescia's Matthews Parsons and Arthur Happel. The Bearcats got one back when Kostiantyn Zviahintsev and Diego Laguna won 7-6 over Elijah Brosmer and Connor Critchfield. Brescia captured the doubles team point after Crispin Nnoto and Maison Ficker won 6-2 over DJ Hall and Paxton Evitts.  

Brescia's Laguna won 6-2, 6-1 over Gutgsell, then Happel won 6-2, 6-2 over Evitts. The Bearcats secured the match after Hall fell 1-6, 0-6 to Parsons. Brosmer lost 6-7, 4-6 to Zviahintsev, Cooper fell 0-6, 0-6 to Ficker, and Critchfield lost 7-5, 2-6, and 5-7.  

Men's tennis drops to 6-10 and 1-4 in conference play. Next up for the Grenadiers is a trip to Fort Wayne, Ind., for a noon match against the University of Saint Francis (Ind.).
