FORT WAYNE, Ind. - IU Southeast men's tennis wrapped up the regular season with a 6-1 road loss to the University of Saint Francis (Ind.) Friday afternoon.
Trey Gutgsell and Brennan Cooper were defeated 3-6 by USF's Jorge Cebria and Juan Andres Wilches in the first doubles match. Connor Critchfield and Elijah Brosmer tied the doubles score with a 6-2 win over Andres Pena and Hugo Gonzales Cabanas. The Grenadiers secured the doubles team point after DJ Hall and Paxton Evitts outdueled Grant Mishler and Devon McCaffrey 7-5.
USF tied the team score after Wilches defeated Gutgsell 6-1, 6-3. Evitts was defeated 4-6, 3-6 by Cebria. Brosmer won the first set 6-3 over Gonzales Cabanas but was defeated after losing 6-7 in set two and 6-7 in set three. The Cougars secured the match after Hall fell 1-6, 2-6 to Adrio. Critchfield was defeated 6-2, 2-6, 5-7 and Cooper fell 4-6, 4-6 to Mishler.
The Grenadiers finish the regular season 6-11 (1-4 RSC). Next up for the men's tennis team is the River States Conference tournament.
