EVANSVILLE, Ind. - No. 3 IU Southeast advanced to the River States Conference Tournament semifinal after a 4-0 win over No. 6 IU Kokomo in round one of the 2026 RSC Women's Tennis Tournament.
Libby Banet and Kate Halbig opened the doubles matches with a 6-4 win over IU Kokomo's Kennedy Perrin and Ava Allen. The Cougars evened the doubles score after Kennedy Horner and Chloe Scmidt won 6-1 over Eva Ellis and Maci Vaughn. IU Southeast secured the doubles team point after Reece Smith and Elena Hamby won 7-6 over Molly Farkas and Breanna Koester.
Banet opened singles play with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Allen, then Vaughn put the Grenadiers up 3-0 with a 4-6, 6-1, 3-2 win over Schmidt. Halbig secured the match victory for IU Southeast with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Perrin. Ellis and Hamby also won their matches.
The No. 3 Grenadiers will be back in action at 10:00 a.m. EST Friday for a semifinal match against the No. 2 Midway Eagles. IU Southeast and Midway met once this year, with the Eagles winning 4-3 on March 13th.
