RICHMOND, Ind. - IU Southeast women's golf opened their 2026-27 season at the IU East Invitational this weekend. The tournament, which was two rounds and a par 72, was held at Highland Lake Golf Course.  

Emma Rowland had IU Southeast's highest individual finish, coming in seventh place. Rowland finished +8 for the tournament and showed great improvement from round one to round two. Rowland shot a 73 (+1) in round two which was a six-stroke improvement from her round one score.  

Ava Klips had a solid performance in round one, recording three birdies and finishing +3 for the round. Klips finished tied for 17th. Sarah Jefferson, who finished tied for 37th place, improved her score by three strokes in round two, including a birdie on hole four. Lydia Hines shaved six strokes from her round one score, and Caity Dailey had the greatest improvement, lowering her score by nine strokes.  

The Grenadiers finished tied for seventh out of 15 teams present, powered by their great improvement from round one to round two. Round two saw the Grenadiers collectively shave off eight strokes from their total score and climb two spots on the leaderboard. IU Southeast finished ahead of two other teams in the River States Conference, Saint Mary of the Woods and Rio Grande.  

This weekend's tournament was also Head Coach Barry Gulley's first tournament at the helm of IU Southeast golf.  

Grenadier golf will be back in action on September 14th-15th at the Pretty Lake Golf Club in Plymouth, Ind., for the Bethel University Invitational.
