Glendon Rusch enters his third year as an assistant coach at IU Southeast. 

In Rusch's time at IUS, the Grenadiers have had two players named NAIA All-Americans and two players named NAIA All-American Honorable Mentions. In 2024, IU Southeast made the Avista NAIA World Series for the second time in school history. 

Rusch spent 12 seasons in the major leagues with six teams.

He was drafted out of Shorecrest High School in Seattle, Wash. by the Kansas City Royals in the 1993 MLB Draft. Rusch made his major league debut in 1997 and was traded to the New York Mets in 1999.

He appeared in six games during the Mets' run to the World Series in 2000, including three appearances in the World Series.

In 2002, he was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers and joined the Chicago Cubs in 2004.

He posted a 6-2 record with a career-best 3.47 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in 32 games for the Cubs during the 2004 season. Rusch spent three seasons with the Cubs from 2004-2006.

He pitched for the San Diego Padres in 2008 and Colorado Rockies in 2008 and 2009 before beginning his coaching career.

He joined the Padres' Class A - Advanced team, the Lake Elsinore Storm as pitching coach in 2015.

He and his wife Kelley, have two sons, Cade and Trevor.
