BEREA, Ky. - Indiana University Southeast senior Antoine
Watson was named the KIAC men's basketball player of the week by KIAC officials
on Monday, January 9.
IU Southeast was 2-0 last week. In a conference
battle at home on January 3, the Grenadiers defeated Indiana
University East 107-92. Watson led IU Southeast to the win with 35 points, seven
rebounds, four assists, and three steals. He made 78.9 percent of his field goal
attempts (15-of-19).
IU Southeast finished the week with an 86-71 win against
Alice Lloyd College on the road. Watson scored 19 points to go along with seven
rebounds and two blocks. For the week, the senior forward shot 77.8 percent from
the field (21-of-27) and made 84.6 percent of his free throw attempts
(11-of-13). He leads IU Southeast in points per game with an average of 15.82.
The Grenadiers are 12-6 overall and 2-0 in
conference play. They will return to action on Tuesday when they
host Brescia University for a conference game.
