NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The No.11-ranked IU Southeast men's basketball team used a double-double from Kegan Clark to defeat Point Park University 96-91 in the Grenadiers' conference opener.
Clark had 28 points and 12 rebounds to pace IU Southeast. Four other Grenadiers scored in double-figures. Tyrell Means had 16, Jake Simpson had 12 and Cameron Mitchell and Haris Batalevic had 11 points each.
It was a close game throughout the first half and the Grenadiers led 48-42 at the break. IU Southeast (6-2, 1-0 KIAC) was buoyed by Clark's 13 first-half points. It the second half the Grenadiers got hot offensively and opened a 21-point lead at the 14:15 mark.
Point Park (5-3, 1-1 KIAC) cut the lead to single digits late in second half behind the work of Josh Arnold who had a game-high 32 points.
IU Southeast heads to Ft. Wayne to face Saint Francis on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
