NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Heather Wheat had 18 points and Andrea Owen and Ashmere Woods each had 10 points, but the Grenadiers fell 74-69 in double-overtime to Point Park University.
Point Park's Ja"Nia McPhatter dominated the Grenadiers inside and had a game-high 28 points and 19 rebounds.
IU Southeast (4-3, 0-1 KIAC) led by as many as 15 in the first half, but Point Park came back behind McPhatter and Emily Schartner who had 25 points.
IU Southeast's offense could not execute down the stretch and they lost their conference opener for the first time since the 2006-07 season.
IU Southeast hosts Carlow University Saturday at 1 p.m.
