NEW ALBANY, Ind. - IU Southeast junior Cameron Mitchell was named KIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week by league officials on Monday. The KIAC release is posted below.
Mitchell averaged 24.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists last week. He connected on 58.6 percent (17-of-29) field goal attempts and 60 percent (6-of-10) behind the 3-point line. The junior guard tallied 29 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in a 78-71 loss to Saint Francis. He finished the week with 20 points, 3 assists and 7 steals in a 94-82 win against Spalding University. Mitchell leads IU Southeast and ranks sixth in the conference with 16.8 points per game.
The Grenadiers are currently 7-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play. They are ranked No. 11 in the latest NAIA Division II Coaches' Poll. They will return to action on December 11 when they travel to St. Catharine.
